What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain API-driven systems to govern, manage, and monitor large-scale Big Data applications.
• Build scalable backend services and data engineering solutions to support enterprise data processing and operational workflows.
• Develop and optimize data transformation pipelines using Spark, SQL, Hive, Python, Scala, and related technologies.
• Build cloud-native data solutions using AWS services such as S3, EC2, EMR, Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
• Design, implement, and maintain advanced Apache Airflow workflows, including DAG development, scheduling, dependency management, monitoring, and failure recovery.
• Participate in technical design discussions, requirements gathering, architecture reviews, and implementation planning.
• Perform code reviews, performance tuning, and operational readiness activities to ensure scalable and reliable solutions.
• Support application integration testing, validation, and deployment activities across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Data Engineers, Backend Engineers, QA, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Troubleshoot production issues, improve system reliability, and drive automation across data engineering and backend workflows.

What You Know

• Must have 6–8 years of experience in designing and developing enterprise-scale applications, distributed systems, or data platforms.
• Should have hands-on experience developing and operating Big Data platforms and cloud-based infrastructure, preferably using AWS EMR and the Hadoop ecosystem.
• Must possess strong expertise in AWS, Spark, Python and/or Scala, SQL, Hive, Apache Airflow, and related Big Data technologies.
• Should have strong programming skills in Python or Scala for developing production-grade data pipelines and backend services.
• Must have hands-on experience with AWS services, including S3, EC2, EMR, Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
• Should possess advanced experience with Apache Airflow orchestration, including complex DAG development, workflow scheduling, monitoring, dependency handling, and operational support.
• Must have strong knowledge of data engineering concepts, including data pipelines, batch and real-time processing, data transformation, data quality, and performance optimization.
• Should have experience with version control and CI/CD tools such as Git and Jenkins.
• Must possess excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Should have strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments is required.

Education

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field is required.
