About You and this Role

Global Services (GS) engages in a wide variety of projects with customers and partners, providing collective experience from across Liferay's customer base. We are obsessed with successful outcomes for our customers. Our GS team collaborates across the entire Liferay organization to bring access to product and service teams, get the right solution delivered at the right time, and drive feature innovation based on customer needs. Ultimately, it is your responsibility as Dir, GS India to ensure this happens in India and surrounding regions.

You are global and strategic-minded while also being regionally relevant and tactical to support our global GS strategy and ensure that teams are enabled, properly resourced, collaborative, and aligned to succeed.

As a Regional Director(RegD) for Liferay Global Services (GS), you will continuously review business performance, conduct analyses, and identify business improvements to enhance performance while meeting and exceeding targets. You will lead a local team of technical and non-technical leaders as they ensure Liferay’s customer success.  Your strong communication skills and collaborative spirit will drive your success as you strike the balance between regional business targets/KPIs, customer satisfaction, partnership between internal teams, and developing your team.

Additionally, a key expectation for the RegD in India is to champion India as a global delivery center for all other Liferay regions. This includes but is not limited to, coordination with other regional leaders on all aspects of account management, resource management, and project delivery for shared opportunities. As the sponsor of this initiative, the RegD will be responsible for the assessment, performance, and continuous improvement of the model and its associated initiatives.

Key Objectives
  • Determine, develop, and deliver innovative strategies and tools to target new and current clients.
  • Oversee management of client accounts, create strong business relationships, use tracking tools to measure progress and benefits provided to the clients, measure budget plans, and modify them according to the expectations set.
  • Ensure achievement of P&L & investment targets and successful completion of associated OKRs for the region
  • Work with GS global leadership to develop strategic plans and success metrics for India and surrounding regions, and drive execution of this plan.
  • Initiate and center team efforts to gather, analyze, and interpret data and formulate recommendations and conclusions.
  • Continuously improve GS India operations to improve execution metrics, and increase employee and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure proper resource leverage strategy is in place by overseeing practice scheduling and project planning.
  • Develop solutions for complex client situations to ensure meeting of goals and objectives and deliver results on time.
  • Engage in practice management such as tools, methodologies, people development, and proposals.
  • Report on final client status and present to engagement staff to demonstrate factual material command.
  • Expand and identify current and new business projects by strengthening client relationships.
  • Develop and review staff performance such as mentoring and recruiting staff.
  • Communicate with all client management levels.
  • Create business reports for the region and status reports at interim milestones.

Required Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate communication channels in consulting endeavors
  • Significant experience working with globally distributed teams, projects, and customers
  • A strong academic background is required; an advanced degree is preferred 
  • 10+ years of consultative management experience 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly about conveying technical investment approaches and key selling points in a clear and compelling manner
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and exercise time management for self and teams
  • Computer and analytical expertise for executive-level briefings and proposals
  • A strong sense of professional and personal integrity and high ethical standards 
  • Demonstration of initiative, accountability, and focus on quality
  • Commitment to the philosophy and process underlying Liferay’s consulting approach 
  • Highly motivated to significantly increase the depth and breadth of consultant relationships
  • A proven track record and history of success

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong technical foundation, including an in-depth working knowledge of enterprise software (especially CMS, collaboration, portals, DXP, etc.)
  • International Consulting Experience is an advantage
  • Experience leading technical teams 
  • Ability to architect large systems for demanding clients 
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and/or open-source software
