The position will be responsible to perform a variety of design/drafting tasks under direct or indirect supervision using corporate CAD software. These may include customer GA’s, Detail (Manufacturing) drawings, Proposal drawings, sketches or component design. All work is expected to be managed to agreed targets and be of the highest possible standards (error free designs).

Responsibilities - 

• Design/Drafting of Couplings products adopting 2D & 3D CAD tools and techniques using Solid Edge software tool. 
• To maintain consistently high standard of work and strive towards producing error free drawings/deliverables
• To design products in line with business expectations and targets 
• Must follow company Procedures and Global Engineering Design Standards. 
• To Perform Basic Engineering calculations as required. 
• Contribute to Quality Assurance, Problem Solving and Engineering Change Management like RCA/8D/GCN process. 
• Carryout Quality checks (1st & 2nd Level) for General Arrangement, Detail Drawings, Couplings Global Standards Design sheets. 
• To maintain designated records in-line with IMS requirement. 
• To use SAP in Engineering, where required. 
• Adhere to company policies and procedures

Skills & Experience - 

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Tool & Die making Or equivalent with minimum 3 years
• Have good Couplings design and manufacturing knowledge with a flair of fits/tolerances and GDTs.
• Excellent proven track record of Error Free GA and Detail drawings.
• Strong in Solid Edge 2D/3D and ‘Team Center’ at user level (Product Data Management) Very good knowledge of Engineering Change Management Procedures / GCN Tool Effective team player willingness to collaboratively work at all times.
• Good communication Skills.
• Good at MS Office and Excel.
• Knowledge of iProjects/DOSE and SAP in Engineering.
• Willing to embrace change and Continuous Improvement Culture preferred. Support safe workplace cultures and compliance with Smiths EH&S
