Investment Risk & Analytics - Senior Associate

As an Investment Risk & Analytics - Senior Associate within the Wealth Management (WM) Investment Risk & Analytics (IR&A) team, you will be responsible for the risk oversight of the Managed Strategies across the WM’s Private Bank and Consumer Bank businesses. You will partner with senior members of our team to oversee business activities related to investment risk. You will identify and assess risk in investment activities, recommend risk mitigation strategies, and escalate issues/concerns to senior management. This role provides an opportunity to work across different risk functions and improve risk transparency and infrastructure. 

Job responsibilities:

• Identify and assess risk in investment activities, recommend risk mitigation strategies and escalate issues / concerns to senior management. 
• Collaborate with Investment Research Team, Investment and Operational Due Diligence Teams to develop and maintain understanding of risk profiles of funds and portfolios.
• Participate in deep dive reviews analyzing top portfolio risks and exposures, in the context of market events and emerging risks
• Strive to develop a deep understanding of methodologies, processes and procedures and suggest enhancements;
• Represent Risk in working groups and/or meetings and review key risk issues, as appropriate
• Work across different risk functions, including the controls team and policy governance team to ensure documentation related to investment risk strategies are in line with firm wide initiatives, as well as audit and regulatory compliant.  
• Assist efforts to improve risk transparency and infrastructure 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Engineering or similar fields. 
• At least 5 years’ experience in Financial Services, with at least 1-3 years related to Risk management or Investment risk
• Have experience with investment products across multiple asset classes such as fixed income and equities 
• Are analytically inclined, with knowledge of data visualization tools (such as. Tableau), programming (such as VBA, Python)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, collaborative and inquisitive nature.
• Are intellectually curious and demonstrate a willingness to take on responsibilities that might lay outside your immediate area of expertise
• Are comfortable working with large, diverse data sets
