Job purpose The IT Program Manager at PHINIA is a vital leader in driving the organization's technology strategy and success. This role combines technical skills, strategic planning, and leadership to effectively manage complex IT initiatives. Key responsibilities include collaborating with business units and IT teams to spearhead digital transformation, optimize processes, and deliver innovative tech solutions. Additionally, this position is central to managing organizational change, ensuring seamless integration of new systems and processes, and addressing the human and cultural aspects of change to foster acceptance of new IT initiatives.

Key responsibilities


  • Program and Project Oversight: Lead IT programs and projects from inception to completion, ensuring they adhere to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Strategic Alignment: Align IT initiatives with business objectives, contributing to the company's broader strategic goals.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with business units, effectively communicating project updates and addressing concerns.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage cross-functional teams of both IT and non-IT stakeholders.
  • Resource Management: Manage resources and budgets for IT programs, optimizing for efficiency and financial viability.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and address risks in IT programs, formulating contingency plans to safeguard project continuity.
  • Vendor Management: Negotiate with and manage vendor partnerships, ensuring compliance and high-quality service delivery.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance IT program management processes for increased effectiveness.
  • Organizational Change Management (OCM): Lead change management strategies for IT projects, ensuring effective adaptation to new systems and fostering acceptance. Coach/mentor team members to scale IT’s OCM capability.
  • Process Improvement and Governance: Spearhead the development and implementation of EA governance frameworks to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and IT strategies. Oversee the establishment of EA policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring they are effectively integrated into IT program management processes.
  • Organizational Change Management: Lead change management strategies for IT projects, fostering effective adaptation to new systems.

What we’re looking for


  • Experience: At least 10 years of IT program management with a proven track record of facilitating successful technology adoption and cultural change within an organization, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field. Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), SAFE Practice Consultant (SPC) certifications are a plus.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams, including experience in cross-functional and international team management.
  • Strategic Planning: Strong capability in aligning IT programs with business strategy and executing complex IT initiatives.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with team members, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges and deliver effective solutions.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with current IT trends and technologies, especially in areas relevant to the automotive industry.
