Summary of the role:

We are looking for a Lead Engineer to provide end-to-end development leadership for scalable supply chain business solutions. This role will own overall development execution, solution the problem with the right framework, architecture, and tools, and partner closely with engineering leads, architects, product managers, DevOps, and business stakeholders in a fast-paced agile environment. The Lead Engineer will guide technical direction, drive code quality, mentor junior and mid-level resources, and ensure secure, performant, production-ready delivery across frontend, backend, integration, database, cloud, CI/CD, testing, and AI-assisted engineering practices.

About the role:

• Lead overall development for full stack applications, including technical planning, design decisions, implementation approach, delivery sequencing, and release readiness.
• Translate business and product problems into scalable engineering solutions by choosing the right architecture, framework, design patterns, tools, and integration approach.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, high-performance backend services and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch and related frameworks.
• Architect and develop RESTful APIs, streaming services, and event-driven components using Java-based technologies, Apache Camel, Kafka, and cloud-native patterns.
• Implement robust data models and integrations with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle. Optimize database queries, indexes, schemas, transactions, and access patterns to ensure high performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Implement data persistence layers using JPA/Hibernate or other ORM frameworks, ensuring clean entity modeling, efficient data access, and maintainable repository patterns.
• Lead frontend development using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue integrated with Java backends and API-driven application patterns.
• Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, design walkthroughs, and technical grooming sessions; enforce coding standards, security guidelines, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through technical coaching, pair programming, design reviews, troubleshooting support, and structured knowledge-sharing.
• Collaborate with DevOps to containerize, deploy, monitor, and operate applications using Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, and cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP.
• Adopt Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles where appropriate by defining clear domain models, bounded contexts, service boundaries, aggregates, and ubiquitous language in collaboration with architects, product owners, and business stakeholders
• Define and promote test strategy across unit, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing to reduce production defects.
• Implement security best practices including authentication, authorization, secure coding, secrets management, vulnerability mitigation, and production hardening.
• Drive agile execution by actively participating in sprint planning, estimation, backlog refinement, retrospectives and dependency management.
• Contribute to and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, reusable implementation patterns and team knowledge assets.

• Frontend : React and Vue frameworks, JS, Html, CSS
• Backend : Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA/ORM
• Integration : Apache Camel and Kafka for streaming and event driven
• CI/CD : Github and GitHub Actions, Dockers, Kubernetes
• Database : PostgreSQL, Oracle
• Cloud : Any (Preferably GCP)
• Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude, Copilot or ChatGPT to improve productivity through code generation, debugging, test creation, documentation, and solution exploration.
• Ability to write effective prompts to solve engineering or product problems, compare solution options, and refine outputs iteratively.
• Strong capability to validate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, security, maintainability, performance, and production quality before use.
• Experience applying AI to automate workflows, reduce manual effort, improve developer productivity, and accelerate engineering documentation.
• Ability to identify practical AI use cases within enterprise systems, APIs, delivery processes, and product workflows.
• Understanding responsible AI practices including data security, bias awareness, privacy, ethical usage, and safe handling of enterprise information.
• Familiarity with integrating AI capabilities into applications, APIs, platforms, or engineering workflows where appropriate.
