About the role
The Operating Unit (OU)Data Leadplays a pivotal role inactivatingHaleon’sData and AI strategy locallyand ensuringthatData & AI services drive measurable business valuein Operating Units, asthe business-facing data leader forIndiaSubcontinent(ISC).
Operating as the primary interface between theData Office and OU, the role translates business priorities into actionable data demand, ensures high-quality delivery of dataand intelligenceproducts, anddrives alignment ofenterprise-wideways of working acrossintelligence, analytics, and data governancein OUs.
Therole is part of theData Officeteamandreports totheHead ofOU Data.
Thejob holder willbe based inIndia, to ensure proximity to key Operating Unit stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
Business Engagement and Demand Leadership:
Act as the single point of accountability for data& AIwithin the Operating Unit.
Partner closely with OU business leaders toidentify, shape andprioritiseuse cases, businessquestionsand opportunities.
Translate complex business needs into clear data& AIrequirements, ensuring alignment to enterprise standards andservices.
Activation ofHaleon’sData & AI Strategy:
Drive awareness ofHaleon’senterprise-wideData & AIstrategy in the OU.
Ensure consistent application of Data & AI services andstandardswithinthe OU.
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on how data&AI can drive growth, efficiency, and better decision-making
Cross-Functional Leadership & Ways of Working:
Lead and coordinate OU‑aligned data roles, ensuring consistent application of data & AI services in the OU.
Work seamlessly withglobalData Office roles(e.g.Data Engineering, Data Science, AI, Enterprise Data Management) to deliverqualityoutcomes at pace.
Drive consistent governance,prioritisationand delivery discipline, including strong project‑level governance.
ValueRealisationandDelivery:
Own the end‑to‑enddatalifecycle from demand to deliveredintelligence in the OU, ensuring outputs are actionable, adopted anddrive value.
Support definition ofsuccess measures, benefitshypothesesand value tracking for OU data andAIinitiatives.
Act as a sounding board fordata & AI demand,validatingassumptions and ensuringenterpriserelevance.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
Feed OU insights, learnings andneedsinto the enterprise innovation and value pipeline.
Advise onemerging digital,dataand analytics trends relevant to the Operating Unit.
Ensureapplication of data & AI servicesfollow industry best practice andHaleonstandards.
Qualifications and skills
Essential
Significant experiencein data, analytics,intelligenceand/or digital roles, with strong exposure to business-facingdatadelivery.
Proven ability to bridge business and technology, translating complex data concepts into clear,business-ready decisions.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging and influencing senior commercial, marketing, or functional leaders.
Demonstrated experience managing demand,prioritisationand value delivery across multiple initiatives.
Solid understanding of data,analyticsand intelligencecapabilities (e.g. BI, advanced analytics,AI‑enabledintelligence, data governance).
Highly structured and outcome-focused, with experience in governance, benefits tracking and delivery management.
Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to challenge, simplify and reframe as needed.
Preferred
Background inconsumer productsorconsumer healthcare industry.
Familiarity with enterprise data governance,stewardshipand information architecture concepts.
Experience working with global ormulti‑marketteams across time zones.
Ability to balance strategic thinking withhands‑ondelivery in ambiguous, evolving environments.
