This role is for one of Weekday’s clients Salary range: Rs 7000000 - Rs 8000000 (ie INR 70 - 80 LPA) Min Experience: 8+ years Location: Hyderabad JobType: full-time We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Python Developer with strong backend engineering expertise to design and build scalable, high-performance applications.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Python, API development, database optimization, cloud-native technologies, and distributed systems.
You will play a key role in building robust backend services that power next-generation AI-driven products.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python .
Build high-performance RESTful APIs using FastAPI or Flask .
Design efficient, scalable database schemas and optimize database performance.
Develop thread-safe, concurrent, and high-throughput backend applications.
Build clean, reusable, and maintainable code following engineering best practices.
Containerize applications using Docker and deploy them on Kubernetes .
Develop and maintain API documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger .
Optimize application performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Required Skills 8–12 years of hands-on experience in Python backend development.
Strong expertise in Python 3.
x . Extensive experience with FastAPI and/or Flask .
Strong hands-on experience with SQLAlchemy ORM , session management, and database transactions.
Solid understanding of multithreading, concurrency, asynchronous programming, and thread-safe application development .
Strong experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL , including database design, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes .
Experience deploying and managing applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) .
Strong knowledge of REST APIs , OpenAPI , and Swagger .
Experience with Git , code reviews, unit testing, and software engineering best practices.
Good understanding of microservices architecture , distributed systems, and scalable application design.
Preferred Skills Experience building AI/ML-enabled applications.
Exposure to Redis , Kafka , RabbitMQ , or similar messaging technologies.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and application performance optimization.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
