Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking a talented and motivated QA/Test Developer with performance testing expertise to join our dynamic team. The QA/Test Developer will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our world class data security solution. You will work closely with the development and quality assurance teams to identify and address performance bottlenecks and ensure a seamless user experience. You need to be versatile, display leadership qualities and open minded to take on new problems that our customers face.

Essential Job Functions

Performance Testing & Engineering

• Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, and scalability tests for applications (including data security platforms such as Guardium or similar).

  
  
  

• Define and implement performance testing strategies aligned with business and technical requirements.

  
  
  

• Identify performance risks early and proactively suggest mitigation approaches.

  
  
  

Test Planning & Strategy

• Create comprehensive performance test plans, scenarios, and workload models based on system architecture and usage patterns.

  
  
  

• Collaborate with architects and developers to ensure performance considerations are integrated into the design phase.

  
  
  

Scripting & Automation

• Develop, enhance, and maintain performance test scripts using tools such as Apache JMeter, LoadRunner, or equivalent.

  
  
  

• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline integration for automated performance regression testing.

  
  
  

Monitoring, Analysis & Optimization

• Monitor application and infrastructure performance using APM and monitoring tools.

  
  
  

• Analyze test results, identify bottlenecks (CPU, memory, I/O, network, database), and provide actionable insights.

  
  
  

• Work closely with development and DevOps teams to tune application performance.

  
  
  

Reporting

• Prepare detailed performance test reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.

  
  
  

AI-Driven Testing & Innovation

• Leverage AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot or similar) to accelerate scripting, test design, and analysis.

  
  
  

• Explore modern performance engineering practices, including predictive analysis and intelligent test optimization.

  
  
  

Collaboration & Documentation

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, development, DevOps, and product management.

  
  
  

• Maintain thorough documentation of test strategies, scripts, configurations, and results.

  
  
  

Continuous Improvement

• Stay current with emerging trends, tools, and best practices in performance testing and engineering.

Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise
Required Skills and Competencies

• Proven experience in performance testing, including load testing, stress testing, and scalability testing

  
  
  

• Hands-on skills on SQL and Database performance analysis tricks and tools

  
  
  

• Hands-on knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery and source code management (preferably GIT)

  
  
  

• Strong proficiency in performance testing tools and scripting languages (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling)

  
  
  

• Knowledge of software development methodologies, software architecture, and systems

  
  
  

• Working knowledge in Linux/Redhat and containerization technology such as Docker, Kubernetes

  
  
  

• Knowledge of logging frameworks or ELK(Elastic, logstash, Kibana)

  
  
  

• Good problem-solving skills and proficiency in Java or Groovy

  
  
  

• Strong scripting skills in at least one language (BASH, Groovy)

  
  
  

• Ability to manage multiple projects, while ensuring that commitments and timelines are met

  
  
  

• Familiarity with AI-powered development tools and willingness to adopt AI assistants for code generation, test automation, and productivity enhancement

  
  
  

Good to Have Skills and Competencies

• Experience with monitoring frameworks (Nagios, Prometheus, DataDog, App dynamics etc)

  
  
  

• Experience with Unix/Linux commands related to system performance including top, iostat, dstat, sar, vmstat

  
  
  

• Experience with performance assessment tooling and technologies such as JMeter, JConsole, perf and be able to develop custom tooling

  
  
  

• Experience in Graphite or Grafana dashboards

  
  
  

• Knowledge of data security and compliance requirements

  
  
  

• Experience with AI/ML tools for test optimization, predictive analytics, or automated test generation
