The SPA System Test (SST) team is a group of dedicated, high-energy engineers within the Security Business Unit focused on ensuring the quality and reliability of SPA's Network Access Control (NAC) solutions. We rigorously test both On-premises and Cloud products, solutions, and offerings to identify and resolve issues before they reach customers.

Our team works on a wide range of features, from small enhancements to major new capabilities, applying diverse perspectives and deep technical expertise to solve complex engineering challenges. 

We continuously learn and adapt to new technologies, ensuring that SPA delivers the best NAC solutions in the industry.

Your Impact

The Secure Policy and Access (SPA) team in Cisco is looking for talented individuals to build the next generation suite of services for the Intent Based Network that enables enhanced control of the wired and wireless network in both on-prem and cloud environment with near real time actionable views across the network, security, device, user and applications

In this position you would be responsible for the System Testing, Automation and Performance/Scale Engineering in a distributed development team in a highly automated Agile environment. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or a related field, with 8-10+ years of experience in System Testing of Networking Technologies.
• Hand-on experience in Network Admission Control Technologies especially Radius/Dot1x
• Prior experience in Automation solutions using various frameworks.
• Proficient in programming, scripting, and automation using Python, Javascript Golang, or Shell scripting and Linux operating systems
• Experience with Tools, Simulators in automated testing.
• Experience in debugging complex Network integrations
• Experience with networking technologies such as AAA, RADIUS, TACACS, LDAP, PKI, certificate management, DNS, NTP, 802.1x, SSH/SSL, FIPS, HTTP, and password management.
• Proficient with AI/ML concepts, formal verification tools, or emulation environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Consistent record in developing and delivering high-quality products in multi-functional teams under timelines.
• Strong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols, with hands-on debugging and debugging experience.
• Experience with network automation, security infrastructure, cloud technologies, containers/Docker, and microservices architectures.
• Skilled in REST API, OpenAPI testing, test case compose, and test automation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, and organizational skills, with a self-motivated and execution-focused approach.
• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Locust.
