Position:              Senior Software Developer in Test (Compatibility)

Location:             Mumbai, India

Overview:

This position is a developer role working within the test sphere, focused on the new generation Endpoint products within Forcepoint. This is a great opportunity to work with a strong technical team to build, automate and execute compatibility testing in the cyber security industry. This role involves setting up a testing laboratory, working with virtualization technologies, and developing sophisticated test scripts and tools. A significant part of the role is the development of automated tools to achieve immediate support (0-day support) for any compatibility challenges with third party products, browser, OS and new application versions.

The Endpoint team is an essential part of a global team that designs and develops Forcepoint’s Windows, Linux and MAC capabilities to scale to meet the needs of hundreds of millions of Forcepoint users. Responsibilities:

• Automate OS, Browser, and Other 3rd Party Product Updates: Develop automation scripts to update operating systems, browsers, and other third-party products. Conduct tests against the latest versions to ensure compatibility and performance.
• Expertise in Python: Apply advanced Python programming skills to develop sophisticated test scripts and tools.
• Set up a Testing Laboratory: Establish a state-of-the-art testing environment to facilitate rigorous and comprehensive testing of software products.
• Work with Virtualization Technologies: Utilize various virtualization technologies to simulate different environments for testing purposes.
• Procure 3rd Party Product Licenses: Manage the procurement of licenses for third-party products used in the development and testing processes.
• Develop Automated Tools for 0-Day Support: Create automated tools to achieve immediate support (0-day support) for any compatibility products. This involves ensuring that our software products are compatible with new versions of third-party products on the day of their release.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in software automation testing or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with other programming languages.
• Expert with IT automation tools like Ansible etc.
• Expertise with CI tools like Jenkins etc.
• Good grasp with source code control tools like git, artifactory etc.
• Strong knowledge of desktop applications within platforms such as Windows and Mac.
• Experience with testing tools and methodologies including automation frameworks, large data, performance and scalability.
• Exposure to virtualization.

Soft Skills:

• Experience working in a cross functional organization with distributed teams.
• Strong communication (written and oral) and teamwork ethic within a diverse team environment.
• Self-motivated to research new skills and technologies
• Commitment to the broader range of product development goals (teamwork at scale)

Preferred Skills:

• Good understanding of working with automation test infrastructures and frameworks
• Previous experience working in an Agile/SCRUM
• Previous testing experience within the security industry
