This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 1000000 - Rs 2500000 (ie INR 10 - 25 LPA) Min Experience: 9+ years Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra, India JobType: full-time We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and REST APIs .
The candidate should have experience designing and developing scalable, reliable, high-performance backend applications and should be comfortable taking ownership of solutions from design through deployment and production.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot .
Design and develop RESTful APIs and Microservices .
Participate in system design and architectural discussions .
Build reliable, secure, maintainable, and high-performance backend systems.
Design efficient database interactions and optimize application/database performance.
Troubleshoot complex application and production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
Identify technical risks, edge cases, scalability concerns, and potential improvements proactively.
Mentor junior developers and contribute to improving overall engineering standards.
Take end-to-end ownership of assigned modules/features from requirement analysis to production deployment.
Mandatory Skills 10+ years of software development experience Strong hands-on experience with Java Strong experience with Spring Boot Strong understanding of Microservices Architecture Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs Strong understanding of OOP, Collections, Multithreading and Design Patterns Good knowledge of relational databases and SQL Experience with system design, scalability and performance optimization Strong debugging and problem-solving skills Experience working on production-grade enterprise applications Good to Have Apache Kafka / RabbitMQ Event-Driven Architecture Redis / distributed caching Docker Kubernetes / OpenShift AWS / Azure / GCP Spring Cloud API Gateway CI/CD / Jenkins Observability and application monitoring Distributed systems Security concepts such as JWT / OAuth2 Performance tuning and production troubleshooting What We Are Looking For Beyond technical knowledge, we are looking for someone who demonstrates ownership, initiative, curiosity, and strong problem-solving ability .
