Use your expertise of analysis to gain insights across billions of data points to make Amazon’s products and services accessible to the world. You will be part of a team of data engineers and business intelligence engineers who are embedded in the Translation Services organization to fulfill our bold vision: “Language will not stand in the way of anyone on earth using Amazon products and services.” You will collaborate with customers across the organization including business operations, product managers, software developers, data scientists, and executives to share your insights to improve the orchestration of translating billions of words every month.
You will use your business and technical acumen to learn the metrics that are important to understanding the translation business, dive deep into our data, and recommend how to read and tell the story embedded within. You will own ad-hoc investigations into data to uncover root causes of issues and surface improvement opportunities. You will listen to your business and engineering customers to understand their data and analytics needs and recommend, design, and build the ideal solutions—including existing and new data-collection, dashboards, data models, and data pipelines. You will add these data assets to our existing data products and assist in enhancing and maintaining existing metrics, analysis, visualizations, dashboards, reports, models, and pipelines.

A day in the life
The TS data analytics team processes data on billions of words translated per week and transforms it so that TS teams can use it for ML/LLM model training, quality audits for machine and human translators, invoicing, and data insights for tech and program teams. We divide our team between efforts to rearchitect 2 large data warehousing systems and implementing complex customer feature requests.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Hyderabad, TS, IND
- 10+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
