The Senior NSS Proposal Engineer is responsible to plan & develop a technical /commercial proposal for assessment, design, implementation, and management of Network and Cybersecurity Solutions and Services to meet the needs of the customer.
The Senior NSS Proposal Engineer will develop commercial offers within the framework of the Rockwell Automation Lifecycle Services’ business and financial goals and be compliant with our internal policies. He/She acts as the subject matter expert for the customer, sales organization and Business Unit of all sub-regions in Asia Pacific.
The Senior NSS Proposal Engineer will have a broad understanding of Rockwell Automation Network and Cybersecurity technology, products, services, and solutions, collaborate internally to articulating value and the benefits of Rockwell Automation portfolio in written proposals to customers.
The Senior NSS Proposal Engineer will deliver and manage commercial offer, presales support, and is a trusted advisor on all proposal related matters to the sales organization and Business Unit.
Below are the key responsibilities for this role:
Responsibilities
- Technical Understanding:
- Possess in-depth knowledge of Industrial Automation, Networks, and Cybersecurity Services including but not limited to Network Assessments and Design, Network deployment and management.
- Understand the customers need and be able to position and quote a desired outcome for a solution.
- Proposal Development:
- Lead the development of detailed and customized proposals Networks, and Cybersecurity Services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather technical and commercial requirements and solution details.
- Solution Design:
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Solution Consultants, Engineering team to design solutions that meet client specifications.
- Ensure proposed solutions align with industry best practices and standards.
- Cost Estimation:
- Develop accurate cost estimates for proposed solutions, considering materials, labor, and other project-related expenses.
- Requires above average attention to details, concern for the exact correctness of work, and strong commitment to tasks completed on time.
- Client Communication:
- Act as a primary point of contact for Sales Organization and Business Unit during the proposal phase.
- Address customers’ queries and provide technical clarifications as needed.
- Effectively communicate and ensuring high degree of information gathering and/or communicated in both spoken and written.
- Risk Analysis:
- Conduct risk assessments for proposed solutions and highlight potential challenges.
- Suggest mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure high standards of quality and accuracy of all technical content within the proposals.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to meet internal standards.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in cybersecurity and industrial automation.
- Provide feedback for process improvements in the proposal development cycle.
- Lead standardization efforts of proposals, tools and processes for Network and Cybersecurity products, services or solutions.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in network related field.
- Minimum 6 - 8 years of experience as a proposal/project engineer or network cybersecurity engineering focused position in industrial automation industries.
- Strong technical knowledge of Industrial Automation, Networks, and Cybersecurity Services along with PLCs, DCS, drives, and other automation products.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, high ability to align and influence critical stakeholders across Asia Pacific/Global.
- Meticulous and detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality proposals.
- Strong command of English (written & spoken) and ability to adapt communication style and messaging to different audiences.
- Ability to work with and gain confidence of senior level personnel (internal and external) in a highly collaborative, matrixed stakeholder organization.
- Demonstrate ability to work and convey a positive attitude in a challenging circumstance with both internal and external customers.
- Exhibits strong teamwork, customer service and organizational skills.
