Role Purpose:

Provide deepwater well completion design, planning and execution, including required software supported analysis. Ensure well completion operations are carried out safely and efficiently in line with the overall drilling and corporate business objectives of Mubadala Energy (ME).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Well Completion Engineering

• Ensure completion contractors are complying to ME and host authority Policies and Procedures.
• Designing well completion and installation programs, including the engineering and planning aspects such as material selection, tubing stress analysis, lower and upper completion design, well stimulation, and well integrity assurance.
• Perform tenders, develop schedule and follow up on completion deliverables according to the project requirement (LLI, SIT, Assembly and Function/Press Tests, etc.).
• Ensure the health and safety of all operational personnel, and protection of the environment.

Execution of Well Completion Plans & Program

• Prepare well completion plans and operation procedures from both the office and onsite during the execution stage.
• Ability to perform Completion Operation supervision offshore whenever required.
• Effective planning and execution of equipment and resources.
• Continuously monitor the actual operations against the operational plan and cost reports to ensure optimal performance. Setting individual objectives, managing performance to maximize individual performance.
• Organize and supervise site supervisor during execution to ensure that all works are based on established objectives. Manage performance, develop and motivate them through formal and informal feedback to aligned with corporate/business unit main objectives.

Budget

• Contribute to the preparation of the well completion budget
• Perform daily monitoring during operations versus the approved budget.

Continuous Improvement

Review process and procedures in effort to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of well design and operations by taking into account the 'international best practice' which indirectly introduce improvement of business processes and cost reduction. Collecting the information from the previous campaign lesson learnt' s to be capture for the future well completion design.

Monitoring of Projects and Reports

• Monitor and control the progress of the well completion programs.
• Manage approved budget, quality, timelines, and standard of the Contractors to ensure development well objectives are met and in line with approved parameters.
• Ensure well reports are prepared and lessons learnt are documented.

HSSE

• Ensures compliance with all relevant HSE management policies, procedures and controls across the drilling function. This shall include employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products / services and meeting the environmental requirements for drilling operations.
• Perform wellsite inspections to ensure safety programs are conducted and monitored by the drilling contractors in a manner consistent with HSE policies and business unit KPIs.
• Together with HSE team perform regular operation meetings and risk assessment including HAZID / HAZOP prior to the operations.

Qualifications include but are not limited to the following:

Education:

• Minimum bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.

Experience:

• Minimum 15 years of oil & gas experience across multiple locations.
• Strong expertise in sand control completions (e.g., OHGP, OHSAS).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in the E&P industry and 10 years in a Senior Deepwater Completion engineer role with exposure to Deepwater Gas Well Completion, Long Horizontal Well, Sand Control, Coil Tubing, Wireline Operations, and Well Testing.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in supervising completion operations offshore.
• Minimum 5 years SE Asian exploration and development drilling & completion experience are essential.

Technical & Management Skills:

• Experience in various well completion design
• Tubing stress analysis, torque & drag analysis, and other well completion software skills.
• Conceptual thinking and planning.
• Good communication and presentation skills, strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to mentor junior engineers.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
