As a Drilling Solutions Engineer, you will be a key member of the engineering team which is responsible for delivering a range of class-leading innovative engineering designs and solutions. Acting with minimum guidance from the Engineering Manager, you are a highly competent individual with the ability to both lead and complete engineering tasks throughout all phases of a project lifecycle. A significant appreciation of the drilling process along with a strong awareness of drilling optimization, drill bit design, geology and data analyses are critical to this role. Experience in utilizing standard engineering calculations related to drill bit drilling operations will be of significant benefit to your success in this role. You will be keen to take on fresh challenges, develop your technical and interpersonal skills as well as expand your knowledge and experience and share them through a variety of exciting projects.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
All tasks are carried out in accordance with Engineering group policies and quality procedures under the leadership of the Engineering Manager. Contribute to sales and marketing efforts to ensure products offered are in line with engineering group and company strategies Monitor drill bit tool performance. Identify drilling trends and implement optimization practices. Provide technical support both internally and externally to customers. Create and manage drill bit product development and testing strategies that contributes to market share growth Assist field testing and new technology commercialization Develop accurate and complete documentation of data and project results in a timely manner. Interact with personnel in other departments and disciplines. Consistently produce quality work and recommend areas where quality can be improved. Attend field runs and visit service shops to provide basic technical support for products. Engineering Change procedures are implemented thoroughly, ensuring minimum disruption to the business at all times Ensure all assigned deliverables are technically in accordance with client requirements and established contract requirements Chair client meetings and monitor individual's performance to ensure customer care is at the foremost position Remain aware and involved in the latest developments within the industry and the greater engineering world to identify any potential concepts that could be incorporated into new designs Travel as and when required in order to support the business Carry out any other reasonable duties when requested by a line manager

Qualifications:
• HND Engineering or equivalent/ Essential
• BSc in Geology or equivalent oilfield major/ Essential
• B.S. in Engineering/Scientific discipline/ Desirable
Experience (Essential):
• 3 to 5 years drill bit operational experience
• Proven track record analysing drilling applications and drill bit performance
• Working knowledge of rock failure mechanisms and geological characteristics
• Familiar with BHA design, drilling dysfunctions and drilling optimization
• Familiar with basic drill bit design principles
• Proven track record of drilling data analysis and drill bit run evaluation
• Relevant experience within Oil and Gas
Skills, training or special knowledge:
• Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook)
• Rock strength analysis software literacy
• Vibration analysis software literacy
• Drill bits hydraulics software literacy
• Data analysis software literacy
