Job Role / Responsibilities:

The Programmer Analyst position requires a personpossessing relevant academics qualifications and/or experience in the field of computersoftware development. You are expected to analyze, program, maintain and managesoftware applications and their development through all phases of systemdevelopment life cycle.


Specifically, you will beresponsible to;


  • the scope of work for the position will includeUniversity wide i.e. AKU Global ERP operations and expansion, ERP support andimplementation within the University and all its affiliates in any country
  • create and maintain software applications and gainknowledge of the existing applications, both the technical and business aspects
  • participate in all phases of application development,i.e. study, analysis, design, development, and implementation
  • develop excellent understanding and application ofData Modelling and Data Analysis Techniques
  • learn Software Development Tools in use e.g.PeopleTools and People Code
  • efficiently produce and maintain requirements and applicationsystems documentation
  • participate in quality assurance and testing of products
  • prepare self-development plan in coordination with theimmediate supervisor
  • undertake activities for continuous professionaldevelopment in line with the plan and keep abreast of latest developments inthe profession
  • operate within practices and procedures for smoothfunctioning of all operational services as per quality standards
  • liaison with others / Sections /Departments fordelivery of the results
  • work on special assignments given by thesupervisor/manager
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
    • a formal and recognized degree in Computer Science orrelated disciplines such as Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science,MBA in MIS etc.
    • candidate without formal recognized degrees possessingextensive experience in computer programming would also be eligible for thisposition
    • 0 – 2 years of related prior professional experience
    • Ability to understand and effectively use datamodelling and analysis techniques.
    • ability to grasp, analyze and document businessrequirements with some level of independence
    • come up with well thought out solutions and preparemodification specifications independently
    • ability to demonstrate new approaches and thinksbefore acting
    • ability to break down concrete issues into parts andsynthesizes succinctly along with collecting and analysing information from avariety of appropriate sources
    • ability to identify client need and expectations andresponds to requests efficiently and effectively while takes action beyondexplicit request within established service standards. Able to meet clientneeds in a respectful, helpful and responsive manner and seek feedback todevelop a clear understanding of client needs and outcomes
    • ability to listen actively and objectively and presentappropriate information in a clear and concise manner, both orally and inwriting
    • ability to make straight forward decisions based onpre-defined options using clear criteria/procedures
    • ability to recognize and act on present issues as wellas offer ideas to address current situations or issues. Able to workindependently and complete assignments without constant supervision
    • ability to complete tasks in accordance with plans andsets priorities for tasks in order of importance
    • ability to set goals and works to meet establishedexpectations and adapts working methods in order to achieve objectives
    • ability to give support to co-workers and workscollaboratively rather than competitively as well as share experiences,knowledge and best practices with team members.
