Play a key role in delivering world-class examinations by ensuring every stage of the exam journey is secure, compliant, and seamlessly executed. As the Exams Operations Coordinator, you will oversee the planning and delivery of test-day operations, coordinating venues, equipment, materials, and invigilating teams to provide an exceptional candidate experience while maintaining the highest standards of quality, security, and operational excellence.
You will also lead the selection, contracting, and management of exam venues and delivery resources, ensuring they are cost-effective, fully compliant with British Council and awarding body requirements, and ready to support successful exam delivery across your assigned location.
Main Accountabilities
You will coordinate the end-to-end operational delivery of examinations, ensuring every test is delivered securely, efficiently, and in full compliance with British Council and awarding body standards. This includes overseeing test-day and post-test operations, coordinating venues, equipment, confidential materials, and delivery partners, conducting operational readiness checks, venue audits, and risk assessments, and ensuring secure handling and transportation of exam materials. You will also support test-day staffing and rostering, act as the primary operational contact for venues and delivery teams, and manage operational issues, incidents, and escalations to ensure a seamless candidate experience.
Working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and venue partners, you will ensure all operational activities meet the highest standards of security, quality, and regulatory compliance. You will maintain accurate operational records and audit trails, support compliance audits and investigations, collaborate with Governance and Compliance colleagues, and use customer feedback and operational insights to drive continuous improvement. You will also oversee venue and supplier contracts, monitor costs and resource utilisation, and ensure the effective procurement and readiness of equipment and delivery resources.
In addition, you may lead Delivery Network Assistants, venue staff, and temporary test-day teams, providing guidance, training, and support to promote a culture of accountability, operational excellence, security, and continuous improvement across all aspects of exams delivery.
