Reporting to: Head of Primary School
To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess a diverse range of qualities, competencies, and experience. An IB PHE teacher should be a versatile and inspirational educator, proficient in delivering a comprehensive, inclusive, conceptual, and inquiry-based curriculum. They should be a dynamic teacher, a lifelong learner, a motivator, and an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, as well as an outstanding ability to prepare students to acquire 21st-century skills in a challenging and well-organized learning environment. This individual should be committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning, making effective use of resources, and ensuring improved standards of learning and achievement for all students.
Qualifications and Experience.
1.1 Possess qualified teacher status appropriate to the teaching duties to be undertaken.
1.2 Strongly desired: have 2+ years of teaching experience in the IB PYP, at least one IB PYP workshop completed and strong background in designing or facilitating extra-curricular activities
1.3 Holds updated certifications
Knowledge and Skills.
2.1 Demonstrate alignment with the ISL Qatar values of belonging, grit, kindness, and integrity.
2.2 Possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate in English within an international school setting.
2.3 Exhibit a high level of understanding of current research on how children learn and the ability to motivate students to perform at their best.
2.4 Inspire diverse culture with mixed ability classes through differentiated instruction and a variety of teaching styles, creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students.
2.5 Provide support for student needs in learning and pastoral matters.
2.6 Be familiar with the principles of Conceptual Learning and Assessment for Learning.
2.7 Demonstrate proficiency in teaching PHE.
