Bayt.com Infographic: Secrets of Career Success in the Middle East and North Africa

Career success consists of a number of different components, and insights from MENA professionals illustrate how closely connected these factors can be. In the MENA region, a few key elements prevail, as shown in a recent poll entitled ‘Secrets of Career Success in the MENA’, conducted by Bayt.com, the Middle East’s leading career site. The vast majority (95%) believe that networking and maintaining relationships with key players has been extremely important to their career success, and more than half (50.2%) have a career mentor.

Key findings:

  • Almost nine out of ten (88.8%) MENA professionals think that taking risks has been important for them to succeed in their career.
  • Three in10 respondents (29.1%) owe their career success to hard work.
  • The overwhelming majority (95.6%) say their family has been important to their career success.
  • Nearly nine in10 (89.1%) of MENA respondents think that their college education is directly related to their career success.
  • More than one third (34.5%) say that their ultimate vision of success is being a true innovator, creator, or pioneer.
  • Data for the2016 Bayt.com ‘Secrets of Career Success in the MENA’ poll was collected online from April20,2016 to May17,2016. Results are based on a sample of7,018 respondents. Countries that were included are the UAE, Bahrain, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Yemen, Oman, Tunisia, Qatar, and KSA.
