Bayt.com Infographic: Job Search Challenges in the MENA

With the continued job search challenges that are related to skills, geographical location, and high unemployment rates, the majority of professionals in the MENA are using online job sites as well as mobile technology to find their next career opportunity. In this poll, job seekers shared the obstacles they face in the job search process as well as what type of support they need the most.

  • The majority of job seekers (36.8%) look for jobs using online job sites.
  • 85.1% of job seekers use their smartphones during their job search.
  • More than nine in10 job seekers agree that networking plays a key role in the job search.
  • Three-quarters of job seekers believe that their location affects their employment opportunities.
  • 28.7% think that online job sites are best for allowing fast, and easy application to all available jobs.
  • Data for the2016 Bayt.com ‘Job Search Challenges in the MENA’ poll was collected online from September19,2016 to October18,2016. Results are based on a sample of8,608 respondents. Countries that participated are the UAE, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Tunisia, Qatar, KSA, Yemen, and Others.
