Job Description

The Commis plays a vital role in the culinary team, responsible for assisting in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. This position supports the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in delivering high-quality dishes, adhering to food safety standards, and contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.


  • Assist in food preparation, including cutting, chopping, and peeling ingredients.
  • Execute cooking tasks under the guidance of the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness and sanitation, including equipment and workstations.
  • Follow food safety guidelines and maintain proper food storage practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Communicate effectively within the kitchen team to coordinate tasks.
  • Support the maintenance of inventory and report shortages as needed.
  • Contribute to food presentation and portion control.
  • Always comply with safety and hygiene standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Culinary school diploma or relevant culinary training is a plus.
  • Prior experience as a kitchen helper or equivalent culinary role is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
