Design Manager - Al Khobar

Our client is a prominent Real Estate company in KSA. They deliver superior solutions and services that satisfy the various needs of their clients in a diverse range of industries.

They are looking for a Design Manager to manage and direct all the design-related activities for projects, until the point of formal project handover to the Construction Manager.

Main Objectives:

• Design and Strategic Planning: Develop and implement policies, procedures, and processes to optimize design operations, establish method parameters for plans and drawings, and create master plans that support the company's strategic objectives.
• Value Management and Cost Optimization: Implement value management techniques to improve design value and reduce project costs without compromising efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety.
• Business Development and Client Relations: Participate in business development activities, promote the company's brand, participate in major contract negotiations, and build strong relationships with external partners.
  
• Design Management and Execution: Manage the Design Function, lead the preparation and production of technical and contract drawings, oversee the refinement process, and review construction design for compliance.
• Project Support and Problem-Solving: Coordinate activities related to design problem-solving, prepare RFP information, create and maintain an Approved Materials List, and support Construction Management during project handover.
• Department Management and Reporting: Produce regular departmental reports, manage the Design Department effectively within budget, and conduct annual performance appraisals.
• Tendering and Procurement: Review and approve tender documentation, participate in hiring for department positions, and work closely with other departments during the pre-bid evaluation phase.
• Communication and Employee Development: Communicate guidelines and procedures to employees, conduct disciplinary meetings (if needed), and recommend salary adjustments, rewards, and promotions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ Years of experience in Design for construction projects.
• Proven experience in a senior design role, preferably in real estate.
• Strong proficiency in relevant design software and tools.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
