We are seeking a Laboratory Petrophysicist to join the Exploration Core Laboratories Division of Geological Operations Department.
The Exploration Core Laboratories Division is responsible for providing Laboratory Petrophysicist or Core Analyst with extensive knowledge, skill and experience in the fields of petrophysics, geology, geochemistry, mineralogy and petrography. The successful candidate will work on different types of rocks and minerals to drive a state-of-the-art lab experimental facility, involving the planning, supervision and management of laboratory petrophysical, digital imaging and rock testing instruments. Integration of results with petrography, digital rock analysis, mineralogy, sedimentology, chemostratigraphy, radiometric dating, biostratigraphy, etc. is required to provide analysis of core and cuttings data in terms of their physical properties, facies, sedimentary architecture, isopach and depositional environment. Of primary interest is an ability to assess and integrate internal rock fabrics (structural physical properties), petrophysical properties and mineralogy to support reservoir characterization and calibration of rock attributes. The individual will be expected to have an ability and willingness to mentor co-workers and young professionals in applying petrophysical and image analysis principles to a wider geological understanding.
The primary role is to provide advance petrophysical support by utilizing petrography, clastic sedimentology and sequence stratigraphy, structural geology, and have knowledge of wireline logs and well testing.
You will be required to perform the following:
As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelors degree in Geology from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree in Petrophysics is essential and will reduce prerequisite work experience stated below by a Master’s Degree or a Ph. D degree.
You will have ten years’ experience in laboratory petrophysical or core analysis, including at least 7 years in Petrophysicist or Core analysis.
