SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEER (DESIGN)

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

As Senior Architectural Design Engineer, you will lead the architectural design process, overseeing the creation of innovative and functional designs for various construction projects. Leveraging your expertise in architectural principles, building codes, and design software, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality architectural solutions. Your role will involve managing projects from concept to completion, providing technical guidance, and ensuring adherence to project requirements and industry standards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead architectural design from conceptualization to detailed development, integrating aesthetic, functional, and technical aspects
• Provide creative direction and mentorship to junior design team members
• Generate design concepts, sketches, and renderings to communicate ideas effectively
• Translate client requirements and project objectives into innovative architectural solutions
• Utilize BIM software (Revit, ArchiCAD, AutoCAD Architecture) to develop detailed architectural models and drawings
• Collaborate with other disciplines to integrate architectural designs into the overall building model
• Apply comprehensive knowledge of architectural principles, building codes, zoning regulations, and construction techniques to ensure feasibility and compliance
• Conduct technical reviews and resolve design challenges
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, overseeing project timelines, budgets, and resources
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality
• Conduct design reviews and quality checks throughout the design process
• Collaborate with internal teams (structural engineers, MEP engineers, landscape architects) to integrate architectural designs with structural, mechanical, electrical, and landscape elements
• Foster a collaborative and interdisciplinary design environment
• Engage with clients to understand their vision, requirements, and feedback
• Present design proposals, participate in client meetings, and provide expert advice and recommendations
• Stay abreast of emerging trends, materials, technologies, and best practices in architectural design
• Incorporate sustainable design principles, building performance analysis, and innovative design strategies into projects
• Prepare comprehensive architectural drawings, presentations, and design documentation for client review, regulatory approvals, and construction documentation
• Communicate design intent effectively through visual and written mediums

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be available to join immediately.
• Must have experience in working for contracting companies.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field.
• Professional licensure (Registered Architect) preferred.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in architectural design, with a focus on complex building projects.
• Proficiency in architectural design software, BIM tools, and graphic presentation software.
• Strong design sensibility and portfolio demonstrating creative design solutions and technical expertise.
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality design.
• Knowledge of sustainable design principles, building performance analysis, and building codes and regulations.
