Yes, in smaller size business with limited horizon to cover, it is very much possible. i cant say it will be more profitable as it also needs resources to reach to the customers and to deliver the products. Every process has its own cost and expenditures.

On the other hand, when the business is large and growing at a good pace, you need out source the distribution and delivery system to generate more profit.

AND there are certain businesses that cant directly deliver the products to the end user. They need outside resources to do the need full.

depends on the products and marketing approach. What would say about Amazon etc ?
