Synopsis
Aircraft & Ground Technologies Officer reports to the Manager Aircraft & Ground Technologies. The Aircraft & Ground Technologies Officer is responsible for administering the EFB contents in both formats Portable and Fixed Systems (on-board) within Etihad - Flight Operations performing 24X7 operational shift duties.
Accountabilities
- Daily Shift handover reports are well documented to capture the tasks/activities that are accomplished and pending for the further action.
- Update and manage EFB Systems (hardware & Software)
- Update documentation Onboard Aircraft and Training facilities including Full Flight Simulators
- Regular inspection of documentation libraries in Aircraft and Ground premises to close findings.
- Delivery of EFB Mounts and primary level support
- Ensure EFB configurations for the installed systems are clearly reviewed and maintained for every EFBU Cycle.
- On time delivery and embodiment of EFB Software packages for the recurring EFBU Cycle.
- Management of EFB devices in custody for operational readiness.
- Acknowledge and support the User queries without delay.
- Ensure that hardware and software applications are configured in accordance with applicable requirements and that their output complies with regulations.
- Maintain profound working knowledge of the EFB system's hardware, operating system and installed software applications.
- Perform Quality Control function by the routine monitoring of the EFB system and its administration.
- Visit aircraft onboard systems regularly to manage EFB configuration and support queries from Engineering (MCC & LM).
- Liaise with Subject Matter Experts of all applications and datasets to ensure that EFB is always serviced with updated and accurate standards and datasets.
- Ensure that only valid versions of Loadable Software Airplane Part (LSAP) are installed on the EFB system.
- Manage data update cycles and ensure that the updates are always completed on or before the cut-over date.
- Provide support to Manager EFB - Aircraft and Ground Technologies in evaluating and implementing new EFB technologies and enhancements within the Etihad Fleet.
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Experience
- Degree level education desirable
- Minimum 3 years Airline or OEM Experience .
- Valid driving license is an added advantage.
- Proficient level knowledge of the EFB Systems on Ground and Aircraft
- Proficient understanding of Computer Networks
- Advanced level knowledge of Aviation Data standards and their relevance to EFB
- Attended OEM conducted Trainings, Workshops and Vendor symposiums on EFB Systems
