Category Manager

Description



To plan, manage & execute specific category procurement activities as directed by the Procurement Manager. This includes utilizing various resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and internal departments to deliver benefits according to plan, timescale & budgetary targets.

Main Accountabilities:



The category manager will be responsible for the following, but not limited too;
Assessment: Conduct a comprehensive deep-dive assessment of the allotted categories and identify various opportunities for savings. Strategy: Develop, implement, and execute category strategies, in line with the Company’s overall strategy, to deliver a competitive advantage in addition to achieving the set savings targets. Negotiation: Partner with key stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure procured material and services meet the needs of the Company. Engage with stakeholders to encourage vendors to prevent, detect and eradicate breaches of ethical standards. Solicit and evaluate proposals applying appropriate commercial review and negotiation, cost and price analysis techniques using available expertise from supporting organizations; draft and implement purchase contracts following applicable company and government regulations. Reporting: Provide regular reports on progress.
The category manager will perform the following specific tasks:
Data collection and analysis (Spend analysis – level 2): Collect and analyze the category data to identify areas where savings can be generated. Major Categories are in place. Subcategories need to be created/defined. Supplier & category market research: Conduct market research to identify new and competitive suppliers & solutions. Keeping abreast of risks & changes, finding improvements & innovations, incorporating AI or Bot’s where applicable. RFx development and issuance: Define the future position i.e. Assist with developing the scope & specification with stakeholders. Issue RFx’s to solicit info / obtain offers.
o Important – you must incorporate/match the RFx to any of the UN Sustainable development goals.
Benchmarking: Benchmark the prices and practices against industry best practices.
Supplier onboarding: Onboard new suppliers in line with Company policies and procedures
Contracts: Negotiate and ‘sign’ contracts with suppliers to achieve the best possible prices and terms.
o For the avoidance of doubt, only the Company’s authorized POA can physically sign and commit.
Savings / Benefits tracking and reporting: Track and report the savings achieved in line with the Company's Savings / Benefits Methodology.
Monitor progress i.e. Post evaluation & SRM.
o Important – The “triangular” sample library is a pillar of ‘innovation’ and footprint of procurement value. Use/incorporate it to its full potential.
Spend Analysis – level 2. A collection of various data sets dissected and subcategorized as well as deep-dive analysis – in MS Xls format.
Category plan & assessment report: A report that identifies the Company's current practices and opportunities for savings. MS PPT & Word format.
Executive summary c/o RFx’s
Supplier contracts: Ensure the contract(s) is signed by both parties and implemented.
Update the Companies Benefits/Savings report.

General Obligations towards Health and Safety Environment



· You will correctly use machinery, appliances, tools, transport, and all equipment issued by the company.

· You will not remove any safety devices for any machinery or installations.
· You will perform all tasks set forth by safety regulations and cooperate with Electra to ensure a working environment and conditions that do not pose any risks in terms of health and safety

Requirements



Must have a driving license (UAE) with own transport. Must be able to travel (GCC), at short notice. Must be on Own Visa It's a 6 months contract Degree (12+3 or Equivalent, Professional qualification in Procurement &Supply (ex. CIPS L4 Certificate, or CPPM, o equivalent) Advanced English Speaking, Reading & Writing (Hindi, Urdu, Arabic is beneficial)* MS/Applications (Excel/Word/PowerPoint) Knowledge of ERP systems
