ELECTRICAL DESIGNER

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to support the design and development of electrical systems for large-scale industrial and Oil & Gas projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate electrical design drawings and 3D models, maintaining engineering data in SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL), coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring all design deliverables comply with project specifications, applicable standards, and client requirements during the FEED and Detailed Design phases.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare detailed electrical design drawings and layouts for industrial projects.
• Develop and update electrical deliverables including:
  • Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
  • Cable routing and cable tray layouts
  • Electrical equipment layouts
  • Lighting, earthing, and lightning protection layouts
  • Cable schedules, termination, and interconnection drawings
  • Installation details and construction drawings
• Develop and maintain electrical engineering databases, cable management, equipment indexing, and documentation using SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL).
• Produce 2D drawings and 3D electrical models using project design software.
• Coordinate with Electrical Engineers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate and clash-free design integration.
• Incorporate vendor data, client comments, and engineering revisions into design deliverables.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, international codes, and company drafting standards.
• Support design reviews, constructability reviews, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain drawing revisions, document control, and timely issuance of design deliverables.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 8–12 years of Electrical Design experience in Oil & Gas or industrial projects.
• Strong experience in FEED and Detailed Design (DD) projects.
• Proficiency in preparing electrical layouts, installation drawings, cable routing, lighting, grounding, and equipment layouts.
• Hands-on experience with SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL) for electrical database management and multidisciplinary design integration.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, MicroStation, and other electrical design tools.
• Good understanding of IEC, IEEE, NEC, and applicable international electrical design standards.
• Experience working in EPC engineering and consultancy environments.
• Exposure to brownfield and greenfield projects is preferred.
• Strong coordination, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project teams.
