Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Quality/Materials Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE.



The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all materials, workmanship, and construction activities comply with project specifications, quality standards, contract requirements, and applicable codes. The role involves reviewing material submittals, conducting inspections, monitoring testing activities, and coordinating with contractors, laboratories, and client representatives to maintain the highest quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.


We envisage success in this role to include;


  • Review and evaluate material submittals, technical data sheets, and material approvals submitted by contractors.
  • Monitor and verify that all construction materials comply with project specifications, approved standards, and client requirements.
  • Witness and review laboratory and field testing activities for construction materials.
  • Conduct site inspections and quality audits to ensure compliance with approved procedures, specifications, and quality plans.
  • Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and quality-related submissions.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, testing laboratories, and client representatives regarding quality and material-related matters.
  • Identify non-conformances and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.
  • Monitor concrete, asphalt, aggregates, backfilling materials, pipes, utilities, and other construction materials used on the project.
  • Review quality records, test reports, certificates, and inspection documentation.
  • Prepare quality reports and provide recommendations to the Resident Engineer and Project Management team.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local authority requirements, international standards, and project specifications.
  • Participate in quality meetings and support project audits and inspections.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, and materials engineering on major infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
  • Previous experience working on ports, marine, roads, utilities, transportation, or large-scale infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
  • Experience working within a PMC, engineering consultancy, or supervision consultant environment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, laboratory testing procedures, and quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, BS, EN, and local UAE standards.
  • Proficient in preparing technical reports and reviewing quality documentation.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Experience on Abu Dhabi government, transportation, marine, or port infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with Abu Dhabi quality standards and authority requirements.
  • Professional certifications related to quality management are an advantage.
