SENIOR INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROLS ENGINEER (OIL & GAS)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of instrumentation and control systems for oil and gas projects. This role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of these systems, ensuring they meet industry standards, project specifications, and client requirements. The engineer will also provide technical support, lead a team of engineers, and collaborate with other departments to achieve project goals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES"

• Develop detailed design documents for instrumentation and control systems, including P&IDs, control schematics, and layout drawings.
• Specify and select appropriate instrumentation and control equipment based on project requirements.
• Design and implement control strategies using DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems.
• Lead and manage instrumentation and control projects from conception through commissioning.
• Prepare project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Provide technical expertise and support during the installation, commissioning, and start-up phases of projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with instrumentation and control systems.
• Conduct root cause analysis of system failures and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all instrumentation and control systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of systems to ensure ongoing compliance and performance.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians.
• Foster a collaborative environment with other departments, including process engineering, electrical engineering, and operations.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and risk assessments.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and maintenance procedures.
• Provide regular progress reports to management and stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate records of instrumentation and control systems are kept for future reference and regulatory compliance.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
• Candidates MUST be immediately available
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in instrumentation and controls engineering within the oil and gas industry.
• Extensive knowledge of DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
