Role Purpose
To undertake a variety of technical and procedural reviews and marine operations study reports. To conduct frequent site and offshore work as part of world-wide energy related projects, including acting as marine warranty surveyor (MWS), vessel inspections, rig moves and general marine consultancy roles.
Duties and Responsibilities
To undertake various technical consultancy projects from start to finish. Act as marine warranty surveyor (MWS) both on and offshore for construction activities, load-outs, rig moves, inspections etc. To undertake vessel eCMID, OVID, on/off hire surveys, consumables surveys and MWS vessel suitability surveys and safety audits. To undertake quantitative and qualitative risk analysis of offshore operations. To prepare detailed proposals for new work including costing. To write comprehensive and detailed technical reports for jobs, in a timely manner using technical marine language. To review and approve marine operations. To act as client’s representative during offshore projects and installation works. To communicate directly with clients and to answer client queries in a timely manner. To assist marketing the Company to new and existing clients.
Specific Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required
To have a Master’s (unlimited) certificate of competency To have sea-going experience preferably in the offshore oil and gas industry with experience in anchor handling and rig moving, tow and/or supply operations. A preference will be given to candidates with previous MWS experience. IMCA CMID and OCIMF OVID inspection accreditation is a preference. SMS auditing experience To be a confident self-starter who works proactively. To be able to demonstrate an attention to detail. To have good communication skills. To have particular skills in technical reporting.
