Overview United International Private School LLC is the first Philippine School in Dubai, UAE. The school was founded in September 1992 by Col. Responsibilities

Main purpose of Job:
a. Responsible in identifying and assessing the learning, development, and adjustment characteristics and needs of individuals and groups, as well as, the environmental factors that affect learning and adjustment.
b. Responsible for recommending suggestions on the needs for special education
c. Functions as a member of the Student Affairs Department determining the students' eligibility for special services, appropriate programming, and on-going progress.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the SEND Coordinator may include the following:
a. Works with the Guidance Counselor on the students' special education needs and the Medical Staff on health concerns.
b. Coordinates with the Guidance Counselor in interviewing all new students.
c. Conducts counseling interviews for students with special needs and disabilities periodically and follow-up interviews for those who will need or request for it. Makes it a point to know the students, interests, strengths and weaknesses.
d. Promotes the mental health and emotional well-being of the SEND students through carrying out guidance programs in accordance with the rules and regulations of the School and the UAE.
e. Consults with competent persons concerning gathering of data about students which may be needed in future research for the benefit of the school.
f. Undertakes individual/group testing of students to obtain guidance data that may be used for future projects/programs of the school.
g. Recommends the exclusion from school of any student who shows departure from normal health, who has been exposed to a communicable disease, or whose presence may be detrimental to the health and cleanliness of other pupils.
h. Maintains accurate records of information and documentation related to the students social, emotional and mental health concerns.
i. Implements an effective referral and follow up process to appropriate persons or agencies.
j. Acquaints teachers with SEND teacher and the services available.
k. Develops and applies instruments for gathering guidance data.
l. Conducts assembles on causes of students' disabilities and of prevalence of absences, drop-outs and failures, etc.
m. Organize and supervise procedures for identifying and addressing special needs of students including health related matters.
n. Offers consultation, advice and support for parents who have concerns about their child/children.
o. In coordination with the SEND Coordinator, creates and recommends programs for SEND students.
p. Ensures that the SEND teachers are following the programs with the right phasing.
q. Performs other related tasks (exigency of service) as determined and/or assigned by the appropriate school authorities.

A. Medium of Instructions

The School utilizes English as the medium of instructions in all learning areas except for Filipino and Arabic classes.


B. Basis for Grading/Assessment


In every grading period the result of the components of Summative Assessment Written Works (WW), Performance Tasks (PT) and Quarterly Assessment (QA) will be the basis for grading.
Summative assessment measures the different ways learners use and apply all relevant knowledge, understanding, and skills. It is usually conducted after a unit work and/or at the end of an entire quarter to determine how well learners can demonstrate content knowledge and competencies articulated in the learning standards. The tables 1 and 2 show the Components and Tools of Summative Assessment.
Likewise, to measure the standards reached by the students and to monitor the teachers quality of their work and whether their classes are at the target expected examinations are being conducted.


Requirements/Qualification
  • FEMALE
  • With Special Education degree
  • Licensed Professional Teacher / LET Passer
  • At least 2 years experience in related field
  • Attested TOR & Diploma
  • Employment Certificate/s
  • With Master's Degree is a PLUS
Conditions/Benefits
  • Overtime rate: As per UAE Labor Laws
  • 2 years contract (renewable)
