Technical Manager, you are skilled at executing customer strategy, showing proficiency in IFF capabilities. You can co-develop with diverse teams, creating new features while addressing customer’s needs. The candidate will report to the
Creative Center Director and be based in our brand-new Scent Creative Center in Dubai, UAE.
Key Responsibilities
Resolve business relevant technical challenges related to fragrance/ fragrance technology commercialization. Build a deep understanding of consumer needs Generate holistic understanding of base formulations and technologies including future trends and customer technical needs Build understanding of customer and competitor technologies in AMET region Generate insights based on IP landscape analyses of fragrance and formulation technologies Build understanding of innovation pipeline and existing tools used and developed at IFF Partner with evaluation and perfumery teams to develop fragrance solutions leveraging existing technologies and tools Lead the development of technical solutions and conduct thorough analysis of stability test results Build a relationship of trust based on technical competency with Perfumers, evaluation and commercial teams. Lead a technical team through excellent leadership, stretching goal setting, coaching and development. Ensure allocation of resources and ensure right focus on projects Attend industry and customer conferences give feedback and presentations to relevant stakeholders and customers. The incumbent must have the ability to lead sizable technical troubleshooting projects in Go 2 Market context. Conduct laboratory trials and follow a design of experiments to solve technical issues related to formulation / stability Define testing protocols for technologies and develop demonstrations for customer presentations Lead must win/mission critical technical projects Present updates on key projects to senior management Build an industry leading intimacy supporting customer’s technical staff Share technical guidelines with perfumers and evaluation team to ensure product stability and quality is meeting customer expectations and high industry standards. Exchange and collaborate with the technical managers in other creative centers/regions. Ability to manage a team without direct supervision.

Knowledge about laboratory best practices and working instructions Knowledge about laboratory safety standards and laboratory equipments Colloidal chemistry Organic Chemistry, fine fragrance formulations Knowledgeable in Personal , home Care formulations and fine fragrances , raw materials and chemicals as well as manufacturing processes and machinery for these products. Experience presenting to internal and external customers Strategic agility Results Orientation Customer Orientation Leadership Development of Subordinates Teamwork Interpersonal Skills/Communication Dealing with Change Management of external partnerships Business Acumen Excellent communication and language skills: English is a must – other languages are a plus
Required Experience
Master of Science in Chemistry or chemical engineering or any related field. Minimum 7 – 10 years’ experience in the cosmetic, consumer goods (preferably Home Care / Personal care) and/or fragrance industry.* 5 years’ experience of actively managing projects / team
