Collins Aerospaceis seekinga Software Developer/Trainer able to support a three (3) month initiation and training period in the UK followed by a four (4) year assignment in Abu Dhabi,United Arab Emirates (UAE). 

This position is in support of along-termcommunications systems modelling and simulation(M&S)laboratoryand academicsprogram. Candidates must ensure their resumesincludessufficient detail todemonstratealignment with the job requirements, including relevant academic and technical qualifications, and experience.

As this role is primarily based in the UAE, the candidate must successfully complete all requiredbackgroundand pre-hire immigration checks and be eligible to obtain the right to work andresidein the country. The company will support the candidate through the relevant application process. Due to the nature of the program to remain ITAR free this position is NOT available to US candidates.

Role Overview:

The Collins AerospaceSoftware Developer/Trainershallsupport the followingspecific areas:

• Conduct trainingfor the Connected Battlespace Lab (CBL) Foundations Course 

  
  
  

• Providesoftware development subject matterexpertise(SME) supporting the CBL laboratories 

  
  
  

• Support the installation of the Connected Battlespace Lab (CBL) at a UAE site

  
  
  

• ConductaTraining Needs Analysis (TNA) and the design/development of theknowledge transfer andmentoring program for theUAE CBL

  
  
  

• Teach select courses in software development 

  
  
  

• Facilitateknowledge transferto CBL Emirate personnel through co-development of softwareand mentoringduring on-the-job-training (OJT) 

  
  
  

Primary Responsibilities:

• Teach software development related topics as part of the CBL Foundations Course 

  
  
  

• Provide students’ academic support and mentoring to ensure successful completion of the course 

  
  
  

• Assess students’ understanding of software development topics andevaluatetheirproficiency

  
  
  

• Support the Instructional Systems Design process todevelop andimprove the course 

  
  
  

• Perform in-lab software development alongside Emirati CBL Foundations Course graduates 

  
  
  

• Conduct OJT and mentoring of junior software developers to improve theirproficiency

  
  
  

• Modify/create software applications supporting M&S activities 

  
  
  

• Write/use scripts, artificial intelligence (AI) agents, and other code to support M&S objectives 

  
  
  

• Learn/write/use Ansys, MATHLAB, and other M&S programming languages 

  
  
  

• Stand-up /maintaina Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Development (CD) pipeline 

  
  
  

• Review and advise on software development policies and procedures 

  
  
  

• Work with reach-back support engineers and SMEs to gain andmaintainexpertisein CBL Foundations Coursetopicsand co-developmenttechnical areas 

  
  
  

• Other related duties asrequired(e.g., document M&S Software Engineer (MSSE)apprentices’ qualifications, perform software upgrades/maintenance, etc.) 

  
  
  

Essential Qualifications and Experience You Must Have:

• Bachelor's Degree in software development

  
  
  

• NativeEnglishspeaker or advancedproficiencyin English 

  
  
  

• 15+ years of software development using an agile developmentmethodology

  
  
  

• Certificationin C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, Bash etc. 

  
  
  

• Valid passport (or ability to get one)

  
  
  

• Ability toattainimmigration and work permit authorisationforAbu Dhabi, UAE for four (4) years

  
  
  

• Eligibility to access UAE Ministry of Defence (MOD) locations 

  
  
  

• Qualified trainerin CollinsAerospaceor to a recognised standardexternally

  
  
  

Qualifications and Experience We Prefer:

• Modelling&Simulationexperience

  
  
  

• Mission Thread developmentexperience

  
  
  

• Experience in the Middle East or working with native Arab cultures 

  
  
  

• Military experience or military related programs

  
  
  

• Experience with communications systems (i.e., datalinks, networks, radios, etc.)

  
  
  

• Experience with networking, cloud applications, and web libraries 

  
  
  

• Experience with model development and integrating commercial off the shelf (COTS) software with purpose-built software to perform and evaluate simulations

  
  
  

• Understanding of RTX Collins Aerospace and its policies/procedures
