1. Create a Google Account and sign in
To start, go to adwords.google.ae and click on Start Now. To create your AdWords account, you just need to provide a valid email address and select a password.
You can then access your AdWords account online at any time – just like an online email account – to change your settings or view the results for your AdWords ads.
2. Create your first campaign: Choose your targeting options
If you only offer your products or services within a specific region or country, and do not have international or nationwide customers, you can choose to limit your ads to appear in this region or country only.
3. Create your first campaign: Select budget
With Google AdWords, you decide how much you want to pay – and not just the total amount per day, but also per visitor to your website.
In addition, what you pay depends on how successful your ad is. You only pay when someone clicks on your ad. This approach has allowed AdWords to establish itself as an extremely cost-effective advertising platform for business of all shapes and sizes.
You set your daily budget under “budget options“. This is the maximum amount that you want to spend per day. You can adjust this budget at any time. If you are not sure how much to set, try starting with a low daily budget and if you are happy with the initial results you can gradually increase to reach the required performance.

4. Create your first campaign: Select your bidding options
Under “Bidding and budget”, select the “Automatic bidding” option and enter a CPC bid limit of $0.15, for example. You use this limit to set the maximum amount that you would like to pay per visitor to your website – then the actual average price incurred will always be less than this.
AdWords will then adjust your bids and ad position automatically and dynamically (automatic bid setting). This will maximise the number of clicks that you will receive for your ad and your budget while AdWords automatically minimises the price that you will pay per click or per visitor to your website. The price you pay for clicks on your ads will never exceed the limit that you specified.
5. Create an ad
Creating good ads is not difficult. What's more, it's not like creating a newspaper advertisement. A key advantage of AdWords is that you can adjust and improve your ads at any time.
6. Select keywords – which searches should your ad appear for?
Keywords are the terms and word combinations for which your ad will appear when a user searches for them. It is important to select keywords carefully, as they will determine the audience that will see your ads.
But don't worry, you can always add new keywords or edit or delete existing ones after you have created your first campaign or ad.
7. (Optional): Activate multiple ads
With AdWords, you can have different ads activated for different search queries. Divide up related keywords into ad groups if necessary. You can then determine exactly which ad appears for which searches, which means that you can optimise the ad text for search queries.
The result is a better click-through rate and a higher position for your ad at a lower price. For example, create one ad group for each product group.
8. Enter billing information
Simply choose between one of the following payment methods:
- Postpay by credit card
- Prepay by credit card
To ensure that ads are activated as simply and quickly as possible, we recommend the post-payment by credit card method.
Promotional coupons
If you have a coupon, you can redeem this as a new customer when entering your billing information. Please remember that you must enter your billing information before your ads can be served.
Once the coupon has been used up, the costs incurred when someone clicks on your ad depend on the success of your ad. However, you can pause your ads at any time with immediate effect in order to prevent costs from accruing.
