Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work on ambitious projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the advancement of our R&D initiatives.


In this role, you will be responsible for defining technical requirements and technical support to Hempel’s customers and Hempel internally.


Here’s some of the other things you can look forward to:


  • Transfer of technical insights from the market to internal Hempel functions


  • Urgent trouble shooting on site or by phone/email


  • Coordination of R&D activities during complaint handling


  • Conduct visits to customers in relation to new and existing projects


  • Provide trainings to customers on-site and technical trainings to other departments.


  • Review and/or development of customer/client specifications.


  • Presentations at customer seminars or international conferences


  • Provide technical input to the New Solution process


  • Support on launching new products to the market and also phasing out existing products


  • Responsible for Technical product documentation, guidelines and procedures


This role will report to the Head of Regional R&D EMEA.


You should also have the following qualifications:


  • Equivalent in chemistry or other relevant technical degree


  • Proven experience with Industrial coatings, preferably involving practical application


  • Deep knowledge of coating types and systems, corrosion protection systems, coating and surface preparation technologies, specifications and standards


  • Well-developed business understanding


  • Strong networking and communication skills (proficient in English)


  • Self-assured and a confident approach


  • Creativity and negotiation skills


  • Collaboration capability, high stress tolerance and integrity
