Bayt.com Infographic: Non-profit Careers in the Middle East and North Africa

The ability to do meaningful work that focuses on creating positive change in the community does drive some professionals to explore careers in a Non-profit organization. However, our recent Bayt.com poll does uncover some commonly held perceptions.

Data the Bayt.com ‘Working for Non-profit Organizations in the MENA’ poll was collected March4-April 14, 2014, with 7,692 respondents from the UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia.

Highlights:

  • 47.5% of professionals would ‘love’ to work in the non-profit sector.
  • Eight out of10 professionals consider salaries in the non-profit to be less attractive than in other sectors.
  • 92% of respondents feel employees of non-profit organisations are more ‘mission-driven’.
  • For four in10 respondents (42.8%), feel there are few opportunities to find jobs with a non-profit organisation in their country of residence.
