These secrets and more were revealed by a detailed study from Bayt.com and YouGov on the topic of attraction and retention of talent in the Middle East region.

When companies are looking to hire and retain the best of talent, there are many factors to take into consideration: salaries, insurance and other benefits, the job title, the training and career development opportunities, the work culture, diversity, and much more. Likewise, job seekers nowadays examine these factors at depth before taking on a new job offer.

Key findings from the Middle East Attraction and Retention Survey:

  • Top job attributes in 2020 are salaries, work environment, and job security.
  • 7 in 10 respondents in the MENA region find an employer attractive if they follow good ethics and practices
  • The least important factors reportedly are ‘aesthetics of the company’ such as the logo and website design (14%) and ‘media presence’ (12%).
  • Social Media (30%) and online company pages targeting job seekers (23%) are considered the most effective mediums to promote a company’s culture to job seekers.
  • 65% of the respondents said they would apply to the current organization for their current role if they had to do it all over again.

Data for the Attraction and Retention of Talent in MENA survey was collected online from November 7-25, 2019. Results are based on a sample of 2,557 respondents from countries including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Sudan among others.
