Bayt.com Survey: Fresh Graduates in the MENA 2021

How universities MENA region are preparing students for the workforce? Which industries are most appealing to fresh graduates in the region? What about the challenges they usually face in finding jobs?

Bayt.com has recently conducted the Fresh Graduates in the MENA Survey to offer vital insights into the current market trends, illuminates the factors driving hiring demand, and helps universities benchmark their career services practices to better position graduates for success.

Key Findings:

  • 82% of fresh graduates are satisfied with the quality of higher education.
  • Marketing (21%), military (17%), and healthcare (16%) emerged as top 3 Industries hiring fresh graduates in the MENA.
  • 65% of respondents say they’ve considered the job availability in the field they chose to major in prior to enrolment.
  • Respondents mentioned computer skills (63%), team skills (43%) and linguistic skills (33%) as most important skills required to excel in the workplace.
  • The most popular tools among fresh graduates for finding their first job are leading online job sites (60%) and social media sites (55%).

Data for the 2021 Bayt.com Fresh Graduates in the MENA survey was collected online from 21 March to 2 May 2021. Results are based on a sample of 820 respondents from the following countries: UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, and others.
