The Bayt.com Job Index Survey - February 2022

What skills and academic qualifications will be the most sought-after in the next three months? Who is offering the largest number of jobs in 2022? What about the industries that are attracting or retain top talent across the MENA region?

Bayt.com has recently conducted the Job Index survey to identify key trends in the MENA job market for 2022 and provide an understanding of the required skill set and qualifications in the region.

Key Findings:

  • Over two-thirds (67%) of MENA employers are planning to hire new employees in 2022.
  • Accountant (17%), Sales Executive (14%) and Marketing Manager (14%) are the top roles that employers are hiring for in the coming quarter.
  • Business Management (26%), Engineering (23%) and Commerce (21%) are the most sought-after academic qualifications amongst employers.
  • Good communication in English and Arabic (58%), being a team player (45%), ability to work under pressure (41%) are the most sought-after skills in 2022.
  • Human Resources (68%), Hospitality/ Recreation/ Entertainment (67%) and Banking/ Finance (65%) are the top industries looking to hire in the coming quarter.

Data for the Middle East Job Index Survey was collected online from 8 December 2021 to 10 January 2022. Results are based on a sample of 1,481 from the following countries: UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, and Sudan among others.
