Bayt.com Survey: Career Aspirations in the MENA

MENA professionals have faced challenges in forging their future as the region emerges from the shadows of the pandemic. To what extent are they feeling optimistic about the upcoming year? What are they aspiring for in the future? What about their professional and personal ambitions?

Bayt.com has conducted a new survey to uncover aspects that revolve around career and personal aspirations, challenges to career growth, and general concerns about the future.

Key Findings:

  • Nearly three-quarters of professionals (72%) have a positive outlook towards the upcoming year.
  • 59% of professionals reported setting future professional goals for themselves.
  • The top two factors that were seen as important in an ideal job were salary and benefits (72%) and opportunities for career growth (44%).
  • The top personal goal for next year was reported to be saving more money, according to nearly two-thirds of respondents (65%).
  • More than 6 in 10 respondents (63%) reported feeling motivated at work.

Data for the Bayt.com ‘Career Aspirations in the MENA’ survey was collected online from August 3 to September 5, 2022. The results are based on a sample of 2,068 respondents from the following countries: UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, and Sudan among others.
