Bayt.com Survey: Ramadan in the MENA Workplace 2023

Ramadan is a very positive time in the Middle East, revolving around doing good deeds and practicing self-restraint. To what extent is employee productivity impacted during Ramadan, if at all? And what can employers do to support their employees during the holy month?

Bayt.com polled thousands of professionals throughout the MENA region to illustrate their opinions, strategies and behaviors throughout the holy month.

Key Findings:

  • 80% of MENA professionals feel more productive during Ramadan.
  • 88% are satisfied with the support they receive from their management during the holy month.
  • Nearly 9 in 10 job seekers (87%) plan to make more time for finding a job during Ramadan.
  • Most respondents (79%) agree that Ramadan lifts overall morale at work.
  • 86% of respondents agree that their company increases charitable activities during the holy month.

Data for the Ramadan in the MENA Workplace survey 2023 was collected online from February 3, 2023 to March 3, 2023. Results are based on a sample of 2,390 respondents from countries including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Yemen, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Sudan among others.
