Bayt.com Poll: Modern Job Search Strategies in the MENA

In order to secure a fitting job, it is imperative to adapt to the dynamic nature of the job market. Job seekers need to identify the key skills and attributes they should emphasize in their resumes and job applications. Additionally, it is crucial to understand the most vital aspects of the job search journey in today's context.

To shed light on the substantial changes in the job market and improve candidates' chances of finding a job, Bayt.com recently conducted a survey entitled "Modern Job Search Strategies in the MENA". The survey aimed to foster comprehension of the evolving landscape and provide valuable insights to navigate the current circumstances and enhance job seekers' prospects.

Key Findings:

  • 85% of MENA professionals prefer companies that allow them to work remotely all or some of the time.
  • 91% of respondents are considering changing jobs in 2023.
  • Professionals favour online job sites (71%) over traditional job searching methods.
  • Most respondents (85%) expect remote hiring to increase in the next few months.
  • The top two skills professionals deemed most important include the ability to work without supervision (34%) and flexibility and adjusting to change (27%).

Data for the Modern Job Search Strategies in the MENA Poll 2023 was gathered online from May 3 to June 28, 2023. Results are based on a sample of 7,591 respondents from the following countries: UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Yemen, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Sudan among others.
