Algonquin College – Kuwait (AC-Kuwait) is an international public-private joint venture between Canada’s Algonquin College and Kuwait's Orient Education Services Company. Algonquin College is one of Canada's largest and most respected colleges. Based in Ottawa, Ontario, the capital of Canada, Algonquin College is recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and is well-known for its innovative programming and its effective use of administrative and educational technologies. Students studying at the Kuwait campus will benefit from the College’s global experience and excellent reputation, faculty and programs. Algonquin College - Kuwait is licensed to operate by Kuwait’s Private Universities Council. As a key member of Algonquin College's network of international branch campuses, our higher education programming will initially specialize in Business and Advanced Technology and we will also offer comprehensive Foundation and Continuing Education programs. Our state-of-the-art “smart” campus will be built in phases in Al-Naseem, South Jahra, Kuwait. Phase 1 is currently nearing completion and will open in Fall 2015. Our current plans for 2015-16 are to offer our Foundation Program, serve approximately 350 students, directly employ about 60 staff, faculty and managers, and indirectly provide employment opportunities (e.g., through on-campus contracted services) to an additional 60 people. In subsequent years, a growing array of diploma programs will be offered and our ultimate goal is to also become licensed to offer applied degrees. Ultimately, once all phases are built, Algonquin College - Kuwait will serve approximately 3200 full-time students.
