Veritas Films is the UAE’s leading producer of documentaries and corporate films. Latin for “Truth,” Veritas excels in the celebratation of realities, both cultural and corporate, through compelling programs of rare depth and allure. The creation of Veritas Films came in response to the lack of production houses in the GCC that could both supply expert knowledge of the documentary form and deliver cinematic-quality production standards. The company’s founder, Mahmoud Kaabour, brought these capabilities together. With his world-class documentary training, award-winning track record, and equal proficiency in English and Arabic language filmmaking, Veritas Films has raised the bar of non-fiction filmmaking in the region. Our clients include the most prestigious government entities and corporations in the UAE, including The Ministry of Presidential Affairs, The Executive Affairs Authority, the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council, Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, Dubai Holding subsidiaries, and many others. We also provide media consultancy and related services to clients such as Starcom Worldwide and Al-Jazeera. Aside from commercial pursuits, Veritas Films is actively involved in the cultural life of the UAE and is the trailblazer of the creative documentary industry in the region. Our film Teta, Alf Marra (Grandma, a Thousand Times) screened to packed houses at over 40 festivals worldwide, scooping up a staggering six major Audience awards and Best Film awards, as well as glowing reviews from top global press, including a “New York Times critics pick.” It was the first locally-produced documentary to show in cinemas in the UAE and secure regional distribution, as well as achieve unprecedented mainstream exposure with theatrical runs in LA and NYC and an Academy Awards qualification campaign.
