Some of the Finance & Accounting consulting services that PwC offers include Accounting Advisory, Finance Transformation, Economics & Sustainability, Asset Lifecycle Management and Valuation (“ALMV”), Government Reporting, and SAP Shift. Organizational Unit Description


Within our Asset Lifecycle Management and Valuation (ALM&V) practice we focus on asset-intensive organizations where improvement of asset performance and cost reduction are critical challenges. We are a cross territory team of accountants, engineers, and asset management professionals focused on providing our clients with practical solutions for their asset management challenges across the asset lifecycle including financial reporting, valuations, operating model design, compliance with ISO 55000, etc.


Roles & Responsibilities


As a Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. The role sits within a rapidly growing part of the PwC business. You will have access to all of the latest training and development tools and the support of the wider PwC network.


The PwC professional skills and requirements for this management level include but are not limited to:


  • Participate as an individual contributor and team member and other professionals (e.g. auditors) on complex accounting- and financial reporting matters
  • Create, update and maintain fixed asset registers by performing data collection and managing physical verification activities
  • Analyze and review bill of quantities, construction work in progress details, asset verification and tagging and quantity surveying information
  • Perform componentization and reconciliation for financial fixed asset register
  • Applying valuation approaches and methods to develop valuation models, including: research cost and market information, data analysis, financial modelling and report writing
  • Developing yourself personally, taking a keen interest in trends in financial reporting standards and enterprise asset management and the impact on our clients so you can help shape their thinking and our success in the market
  • As a Senior Associate in the team, the role requires you to build relationships to create exceptional client and people experience, working effectively as part of a diverse delivery team and delegating tasks effectively and providing coaching and direction to more junior team members
  • Navigate the complexities of cross-border and/or diverse teams and engagements

Skills and competencies


Critical Competencies:


  • Experience in accounting advisory with a specific focus on fixed asset management within fixed asset intensive industries. Preferable asset experience include infrastructure, utilities and linear assets
  • Experience in fixed asset register creation, reconciliation and reconstruction including componentization, classifications useful life assessment
  • Exposure to bill of quantities analysis, project CWIP accounting, costing and quantity surveying
  • Strong understanding of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), with specific focus on standards related to fixed assets such as IAS 16 “Property, Plant and Equipment”, IAS 36 “Impairment of Assets”, IFRS 13 “Fair Value Measurement”
  • Excellent organisational skills, having the ability to prioritise work load whilst being resilient and being able to cope well under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.The role offers some flexibility in working hours, depending on the specific projects and client delivery expectations
  • The ability and willingness to travel within the Middle East and worldwide where the project dictates
  • Strong project management skills as the delivery role requires client management, project budgeting and finance management, coaching and resource management on a portfolio of clients. A key part of delivery will be the creation, review and delivery of complex client deliverables which will include executive level reporting through to detailed documentation

Preferable to have (other skills/competencies):


  • Previous experience in consulting firm as well as exposure to plant and equipment appraisal and tangible asset valuation for various purposes including financial reporting, mergers, acquisitions and disposals
  • Preferably experience in fixed asset policies and procedures including capitalisations, additions, transfers, tracking and disposals
  • Knowledge of asset management standards such as ISO 55000
  • Experience in business process reviews & technology/systems implementations, specifically focusing on the fixed asset function of the organization
  • Fixed asset capital expenditure optimisations, cost projections and operational Key Performance Indicators
  • Data analysis and visualization
  • Exposure to finance operating model design, Enterprise Asset Management and ERP implementations

Education


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant subject areas such as Accounting & Financial Management, Engineering
  • Preferably a Master's to combine technical and financial qualifications.

Experience


  • 5 years of relevant experience in tangible assets valuation practice of accounting, consulting, quantity surveying or insurance firms.
