Envision Employment Solutions is currently looking for a Digitization Operator for one of our partners, a global leader in Information Technology Services & Consulting !
Job Summary: The Digitization Operator has the primary responsibility of inspecting client media carriers, migrating their program content using the appropriate studio equipment, and providing quality control inspection of the digitized program content.
Responsibilities: Overall responsibility: To ensure that the digitization setup delivers high-quality playback and does not generate errors Duties: for audio, video, and film digitization, daily, and more often if necessary: Calibrate playback devices using appropriate standards and methods (reference media, visual and sound monitoring systems, etc.
…) Clean media if applicable (disc, tape, film), playback transport path and playback heads Check physical status of playback devices Verify setup parameters (settings, templates, output formats, etc.
) React immediately in case of anomaly or suspicion of defective behavior and report to Maintenance Engineer or Team Supervisor for implementation of subsequent corrective action(s) Review operating procedures if necessary Call the carrier into the digitization interface by scanning its barcode Perform visual inspection of the carriers and route to specific treatment if necessary Load playback devices and begin digitization transfer Monitor image and sound quality and react immediately in case of quality degradation Report specific events in the digitization interface as described in the operating procedure Confirm digitization output status (OK, PBC or failed) Perform overall quality checks on digital files produced and debrief working shift/day with Team Supervisor Exchange best practices and guidance with other operators Education & Professional Background: High school diploma, technical diploma, or equivalent qualification is required.
A technical diploma or coursework in Audiovisual Technology, Media Production, Film, Archiving, Electronics, Broadcast Operations, or a related field is preferred.
Basic knowledge of audio, video, film media, and digitization technologies is required.
Hands-on experience with audio, video, or film playback devices is a strong advantage.
Experience Requirements: Previous experience in media digitization, AV operations, archival processing, broadcast operations, post-production, media handling, or technical production environments is preferred.
Experience handling fragile, unique, legacy, or sensitive media carriers such as tapes, discs, film reels, or audio media is highly desirable.
Familiarity with digitization workflows, media inspection, playback monitoring, file quality checks, and production procedures is an advantage.
Experience using barcode scanning systems, digitization interfaces, inventory systems, or media tracking tools is preferred.
Previous exposure to quality control activities involving audio, video, film, or digital files is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills: Basic understanding of audio, video, and film media characteristics, including common risks related to physical condition, playback quality, and digitization output.
Ability to operate or learn playback devices such as audio tape machines, video tape machines, film viewers, flatbed editors, or similar studio equipment.
Ability to perform basic setup checks, including templates, output formats, system settings, and digitization parameters.
Understanding of basic playback calibration methods using reference media, visual monitoring, and sound monitoring systems.
Ability to clean media carriers, playback paths, and playback heads according to approved procedures.
Ability to monitor image and sound quality during digitization and identify visible or audible quality issues.
Ability to perform quality checks on digitized files and accurately classify output status according to defined procedures.
Ability to document events, anomalies, and quality observations in a digitization interface or production tracking system.
