we design structures such as bridges, high-rise design, precast concrete engineering and post-tensioning design. The firm's core work is structural engineering; however, e.construct is increasingly holistic at its approach to buildings and it has divisions in MEP, Geotechnical and emerging construction technology such as 3D printing of concrete, technology and 3D laser scanning.

We are a tech startup that is being incubated in the technology lab of e.construct and we employ technology to empower and eventually transform engineering. VAES’s mission is to reduce the amount of raw materials we design in our buildings and bridges by using optimization algorithms and machine learning.
VAES consists of a team of software developers, civil engineers, machine learning experts, architects and graphic designers that builds tools that engineers can use to design and manufacture the next generation of cities.
Role Summary
We are looking for a Junior Multidisciplinary Designer who is passionate about the intersection of design, communication, and knowledge.  A method (design); an objective (communication); and a medium (vision).
Working on the interpretation, organization, and visual presentation of messages; attention toward form and style should go hand in hand with attention toward content. Beyond aesthetic appeal, this role has to work with the planning and structuring, production, and evaluation of communications.

Responsibilities

• Help deliver on design requirements for web and print projects including pitches, brochures, advertisements, invitations, email banners, and web graphics.
• Ideate and develop illustrations to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate.
• Understand the design idea and concept.
• Pitch unique ideas for design projects.
• Collaborate with senior designers and the design team to produce the final product.
• Create drafts and models for review.
• Implement and maintain a high standard of design, format, and production, while adhering to brand standards.
• Take on specific tasks to support many projects underway.

Designer skills

• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles, including typography knowledge.
• Creativity and originality, fluency of ideas.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, ability to juggle multiple projects.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in design or related field.
• The ideal candidate has a strong creative design portfolio, strong verbal and written communication skills, and should be a self-motivated, team player.
