Job Purpose:
The Technical Engineer, Structural Shop Drawings, shall prepare, review and coordinate the
structure shop drawings (concrete/reinforcement) for infrastructure projects. The role covers
bridges, underpasses, tunnels, pumping stations, retaining walls, culverts, foundations,
chambers, and other reinforced concrete structures.
The engineer shall ensure that all shop drawings are technically correct, constructible,
coordinated with other disciplines, and compliant with IFC drawings, specifications, standards,
authority requirements, and project procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review IFC drawings.
2. Prepare concrete outline/ GA structural shop drawings for bridges, underpasses, tunnels, retaining walls, pumping stations, culverts, chambers, foundations, and utility structures.
3. Prepare reinforcement shop drawings and bar-bending schedules
4. Check reinforcement detailing for spacing, laps, anchorage, cover, congestion, couplers, starter bars, shear links, dowels, and constructability.
5. Coordinate structural drawings with roads, utilities, architectural, MEP, tra ic diversion, temporary works, and existing services.
6. Identify clashes between structural elements and utilities, ducts, sleeves, drainage lines, chambers, anchor bolts, and embedded items.
7. Ensure all drawings are prepared in accordance with project CAD standards, including title blocks, numbering systems, revision control, and submission procedures.
8. Ensure shop drawings reflect the latest approved IFC drawings, RFIs, engineer instructions, authority comments, and site requirements.
9. Review consultant comments and revise the drawings as required.
